Dr. Zuojiong Gong is a Professor of Hepatology and a Director of Department of Infectious Diseases, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. He finished his postgraduate training course and obtained his Master Degree of Medicine from Wuhan University, China, in 1987. He also finished his doctoral and postdoctoral training course and obtained his Doctoral Degree of Medicine from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 1998. Dr. Gong is a Fellow of Chinese Society of Infectious Diseases, Chinese Medical Association, Infectious Diseases Society of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Hepatobiliary Diseases Society of China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, and Chinese Medical Doctor Association. He is also a Vice-Chairmen of Hubei Society of Infectious Diseases, and Hubei Society of liver Diseases, Hubei Province Medical Association. His academic and research fields include basic and clinical research of chronic liver diseases. Dr. Gong has received over 5 scientific awards in his research field, of which 3 were the third grade award of Science and Technology Progress of Hubei province, China, and 2 the third grade award of Natural Science of Hubei province, China. He is currently the Editor of Chinese Journal of Infectious Diseases, Chinese Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases, Chinese Journal of Liver Diseases (Electronic Version), Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine on Liver Diseases, World Journal of Infection, Medical Journal of Wuhan University, Journal of Practical Hepatology, Journal of Clinical Hepatology, and Modern Preventive Medicine. He is also a Ad hoc Reviewer of World Journal of Gastroenterology, World Journal of Hepatology, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International, International Journal of Molecular Science, Molecular Science Reports, International Journal of Hepatology, Cytokines, Nutrition, and Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Gong has published over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts in scientific journals, including Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, Journal of Viral Hepatitis. He is currently serving as principal investigator for several multi-center clinical trials and in charge of many scientific research grants from local and central governments.
