The grand Opening of “China-Italy Medical Culture Week”
On September 16, the first “China-Italy Medical Culture Week” guided by Hubei Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, hosted by Wuhan University and organized by Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University was opened in Wuhan. More than 20 national medical experts of 10 universities (hospitals) in Italy, together with more than 200 expertof 50 hospitals in Hubei, Xinjiang, Hainan, Henan and Hunan gathered atRenmin Hospital of Wuhan University to participate in the series of activities of “China-Italy Medical Cultural Week”.
Professor George Carbone(the President of the Italian Association of Emergency Medicine), Professor Carlo Bagliani(the Professor of the University of Turin), Yao Yun(the Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission), Shen Zhuanghai, (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University), Tang Qizhu(President of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University),and Wan Honghui(Party Secretary of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University)jointly launched the "China-Italy Medical Culture Week" crystal ball.
Professor George Carbone, head of the Italian medical delegation, president of the Italian Emergency Medical Association and the professor of the Turin Medical School, said that the medical cooperation between Italy and China has always been an important part of China-Italy technical cooperation. Over the past 20 years, many university hospitals in Italy have established cooperation and exchange relations with Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. He hoped that this event would build a new bridge for China-Italy medical and cultural exchanges.
Yao Yun, deputy director of the Hubei Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, said that over the years, Hubei's large-scale medical institutions, represented by Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, have made outstanding contributions to the development of medical science in Hubei Province. The theme of “China-Italy Medical Culture Week” is “Medical and Humanities”. The “China-Italy Medical Culture Week” is aimed to share the latest techniques and medical practice, medical education and useful experience in different social environments and cultural contexts, and promote the sound development of Hubei's medical and health, which will add a new chapter to Hubei's exchange and cooperation with Italy in the field of medical.
Shen Zhuanghai, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, pointed out that Wuhan University attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation in promoting the construction of "double first-class". He hopes that the Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University can build the cooperation in key areas such as medical care, scientific research and education, and open up more areas of cooperation after “China-Italy Medical Culture Week”.
After the opening ceremony, Professor George Carbone, President of the Italian Emergency Medical Association, and ProfessorGuilioFornero, a famous Italian medical management expert, introduced the medical history of Italy and the European medical system. President Tang Qizhu introduced the history of Chinese medicine. Professor Carlo Bagliani, one of the founders of China-Italycooperation, a famous Italian emergency medical expert and a visiting professor at Wuhan University, shared the precious memories of China-Italy medical exchange for 20 years.
Since 1997, more than 100 young and middle-aged experts from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University have went to Italy to study and communicate. At the same time, the Italian experts regularly visited China, and young doctors form Italy came to Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University for internship observation. The two sides have achieved fruitful results through in-depth cooperation. In March 2015, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University also formally signed an agreement with the Humanitas University Hospital in Italy to establish the relationship of a “Sister Hospital”.
At the beginning of 2008, President Tang Qizhu led a delegation to many Italian universities and medical institutions, such as Humanitas University Hospital. In May 2008, Prof. Carlo Baglianiwas invited to visit Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, and signed a 10-year agreement on the cooperation and exchange of Chinese and Italian health care. Carlo Bagliani alsovisited the "Care Unit" of Renmin Hospital to express condolences to the wounded from the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken area. He donated money and expressed appreciation for the high-level medical services and human care provided by Renmin Hospital for the wounded.
President Tang Qizhu introduced that internationalization is the indispensable methodto the development of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University has established good cooperative relations with many famous universities and top hospitals in Europe and America. A large number of international medical exchange activities were organized every year, bringing together leading medical experts at home and abroad, conducting academic exchanges and disseminating international advanced medical technology, effectively improving the key of difficult and critical illnesses, and prompting the participation of a wider range of international medical and scientific research cooperation.
During this year's event, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University also signed an agreement with Italy's Humanits University to deepen bilateral cooperation. The two sides will continue to carry out all-round multi-level exchange activities, including medical education, scientific research, management training, and personal exchanges.
Secretary Wan Honghui pointed out that holding the “China-Italy Medical Culture Week” is an important measure to promote the "healthy China" strategy and enhance the construction of "world-class hospitals" for Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. It is also meaningful to strengthen the construction of first-class experts in the hospital by “come in and go abroad".
In addition, “China-Italy Medical Culture Week” also include cultural exchange activities. The “Chinese national essence”will be performed during the week, including Peking Opera performance, Sichuan Opera face-change, Chinese folk music, Guzheng and tea performance, Chinese calligraphy, etc., So that Italian experts can fully appreciate the charm of Chinese traditional culture.
