Gastroenterology Hospital of RenMin Hospital of Wuhan University creates "ENDOANGEL"

On 3 June 2022 at 4pm, in the presence of the world's leading experts in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy, Professor Yu Honggang of the Gastroenterology Hospital of the RenMin Hospital of Wuhan University performed an ESD operation with a high-frequency electric blade, assisted by his self-developed, world-leading gastrointestinal endoscopic artificial intelligence, ENDOANGEL, to remove a huge 4cm lesion for a patient with pre-cancerous rectal lesions in a minimally invasive and precise manner.

The procedure was also demonstrated via live webcast to scholars and medical practitioners from around the world attending Endoscopy on Air 2022, the world's leading gastroenterology conference. In addition to the endoscopic surgery demonstration, Professor Yu also gave a lecture on the world's leading AI technology for gastrointestinal endoscopy, "The State of AI and its Future Development", and was the only academic in the world to be invited to attend both the surgery demonstration and the lecture.

At the Endoscopy on Air 2022 conference, Professor Yu also presented the Journal of Digital Health (JDH), a medical AI journal founded by the RenMin Hospital of Wuhan University of Gastroenterology, to the world. This will further enhance the global status of the Gastroenterology Hospital in the field of "Health + AI".
